This tool will calculate the theoretical bore diameter of a piston cylinder assembly by entering values for the piston force and the pressure within the cylinder.

Formula

The formula used by this calculator to determine the piston cylinder bore diameter from force and pressure is:

r = ø / 2

A = π · r2 = π  · (ø / 2)2

A = π · ø2 / 4

ø = √  (4 · A / π)

P = F / A

A = F / P

ø = √  (4 · F / (π · P))
