Vented Gauge (VG) is a pressure referenced to atmospheric pressure via a vent path on the reverse side of the pressure sensing diaphragm. A vented gauge reference is often called a gauge reference, but not all gauge reference devices are vented, as is the case with sealed gauge. For precise measurements it is important to know whether the pressure reference is vented or not.
