User Guide

This tool will allow you to calculate the force per unit area from a applied force and area size in any mix of engineering units. Two conversion scales are shown below the calculated answer.

The first conversion scale shows a range of force values converted to a force per unit area with a contant size area.

The second conversion scale shows a range of area sizes converted to a force per unit area with a constant total force.

Force Applied

This is the force generated by a load acting on a surface and specified in any of the force measurement units available from the drop down selection box.

Effective Area

This is the area which the force is directly applied to, specified in any area measurement unit available from the pull down selection choices.

Force per Unit Area (Pressure)

A part amount of the total force that is acting on a unit of area.
