User Guide
This strain gauge transducer millivolt output calculator provides a way to determine the output reading and range from the applied stress, strain gauge transducer range and strain gauge output characteristics. A conversion scale graphic for each strain gauge measurement range and millivolt output range combination entered is also displayed below the calculated values.
Strain Gauge Measurement Parameters
Unit
Enter the measurement unit for the quantity which is generating the strain , e.g. newtons, tonnes, micrometres, psi, degrees Celsius, etc…
Reading
This is the quantity measured by the strain gauge transducer that you wish to convert to a millivolt output reading.
Full Range
Enter the maximum quantity that the strain gauge transducer will measure.
Millivolt Output Parameters
Supply Voltage (V)
This is the excitation voltage in volts applied to the wheatstone bridge strain gauge circuit. The millivolt output of a non-amplified strain gauge transducer is linearly proportional to the excitation voltage.
Span Sensitivity (mV/V)
This is the full span output per supply volt characteristic for the strain gauge transducer wheatstone bridge circuit.
Zero Offset (mV)
This is the measured output of the strain gauge transducer, powered by the specified supply voltage, with no stress applied.
Full Range Output (mV)
This the full range output of the strain gauge transducer in millivolts, powered by the specified supply voltage, with the maximum measurable quantity applied.
Output Reading (mV)
This is the expected ideal strain gauge transducer output in millivolts for the measured quantity specified.
