Pressure Transmitters

BD Sensors pressure transmitters provide a 4-20mA output signal proportional to the measured pressure. They are designed to withstand the corrosive effects of aggressive media, ensuring reliable performance in demanding applications:

  • Process monitoring: Continuously measuring the pressure in pipelines and vessels.
  • Tank level measurement: Determining the level of liquid in a tank based on hydrostatic pressure.
  • Leak detection: Identifying leaks in pipelines or vessels.

Submersible Liquid Level Probes

BD Sensors submersible probes excel in continuous level monitoring within harsh liquids. These probes are typically constructed from corrosion-resistant materials like PVDF, PTFE, and stainless steel, ensuring longevity even when immersed in acids, alkalis, and salt water. They find applications in:

  • Chemical storage tanks: Monitoring the level of aggressive acids and bases.
  • Wastewater treatment plants: Measuring the level of effluent and sludge.
  • Marine environments: Monitoring ballast tank levels and seawater intake.

Screw-In Liquid Level Sensors

These level sensors for external mounting provide continuous level measurement in tanks and vessels containing corrosive liquids. Their compact design and robust construction make them suitable for a wide range of applications:

  • Chemical dosing systems: Monitoring the level of chemicals in storage tanks.
  • Hydraulic systems: Measuring the level of hydraulic fluid in reservoirs.
  • Pharmaceutical production: Monitoring the level of ingredients in mixing tanks.

Differential Pressure Sensors

These sensors accurately measure the pressure difference between two points in a system, even with corrosive media. Applications include:

  • Filter monitoring: Detecting clogging in filters used in chemical processing.
  • Flow measurement: Determining the flow rate of corrosive liquids in pipelines.
  • Leak detection: Identifying leaks in pipelines or vessels containing hazardous chemicals.

Pressure Gauges

BD Sensors offers a range of pressure gauges specifically designed for corrosive applications. These gauges feature corrosion-resistant materials and robust construction to ensure accurate and reliable pressure readings in harsh environments:

  • Chemical processing plants: Monitoring pressure in reactors, pipelines, and storage tanks.
  • Marine applications: Measuring pressure in seawater systems and ballast tanks.
  • Wastewater treatment: Monitoring pressure in pumps and pipelines.

Electronic Pressure Switches

BD Sensors electronic pressure switches provide precise and reliable pressure monitoring in demanding environments. They offer a safer alternative to traditional mechanical switches, especially when dealing with flammable or explosive media. Typical applications include:

  • Pump protection: Preventing damage to pumps by shutting them down if the pressure exceeds a safe limit.
  • Process control: Maintaining the pressure within a defined range in chemical reactors.
  • Safety interlocks: Ensuring that equipment only operates under safe pressure conditions.

By focusing on corrosion resistance, BD Sensors ensures that its pressure and level measurement instrumentation provides accurate and reliable data, even in the most challenging environments. The range includes ATEX and Marine certified options, making them suitable for hazardous areas and offshore applications.

Negative ranges scaling part number code

For negative pressure ranges, does the a part number code X102 mean that 0 bar = 4mA mA, and -1 bar = 20 mA, or is it -1 bar = 4 mA and 0 bar = 20 mA? If it is the latter, what would be the code for the former?

The standard negative range configuration has the lowest pressure corresponding to 4mA, and zero pressure corresponding to 20 mA, and is designated by an ‘X’. For a non-standard reverse of this configuration, with 4mA at zero pressure and the lowest pressure at 20mA, it would be designated by a ‘Z’.

This is how the two different codes would be configured for a -1 bar pressure range:

  • X102 = -1 bar = 4 mA and 0 bar = 20 mA
  • Z102 = 0 bar = 4mA mA, and -1 bar = 20 mA

DMP331 & DCT531 Series accuracy and resolution options

The following table shows the output resolution, and type of temperature compensation, for the signal conditioning used on the DMP331 and DCT531, depending on the accuracy option selected:

Model Accuracy Signal conditioning Temp. compensation Output resolution
DMP 331 SIL 0.35 / 0.25 % analog passive infinite
DMP 331 0.35 / 0.25 % digital passive approx. 11,5 bit
DMP 331 0.1 % digital + linearization passive approx. 13 bit
DMP 331i 0.1 % digital + linearization active approx. 15 bit
DCT 531 0.25 % digital + linearization passive approx. 13 bit
DCT 531 0.1 % digital + linearization passive approx. 13 bit
DCT 531i 0.1 % digital + linearization active approx. 15 bit
