User Guide
This tool will convert frequency to a period by calculating the time it will take to complete one full cycle or revolution at the specified frequency.
For each frequency entered a conversion scale will display for a range of frequency versus period values.
Formula
The formula used to calculate the period of one cycle or revolution is:
Wave or Rotational Frequency
T = 1 / f
Angular Frequency
T = 2 · π / ω (radians)
T = 360 / ω (degrees)
Symbols
- T = Time period of 1 cycle
- f = Frequency
- ω = Angular frequency
- π = Pi (constant)
Frequency Measured
Enter the frequency in number of cycles or revolutions per unit period of time.
Period Calculation
This is the amount of time it takes to complete one full cycle or revolution.
