The SWL series pressure sensor is specifically designed for compatibility with seawater, featuring a marine bronze housing (CA104) that resists corrosion. This makes it ideal for deployment within a fender exposed to a mixture of air and seawater. The sensor’s IP68 rating ensures complete protection against dust and prolonged immersion in water, further enhancing its suitability for this application.

A key consideration when measuring pressure in a fender is the potential for pressure spikes during impact. While the nominal pressure range may be 0-100 kPa, the SWL sensor can withstand pressures beyond this range, providing a crucial safety margin.
