All stainless steel compact temperature transmitter with integrated Platinum resistance thermometer (PT100) for installing on machines, industrial process control, mobile hydraulics, HVAC or environmental monitoring equipment. The TS100 temperature transmitter includes a PT100 temperature which is inserted into the probe tip which protrudes from the thread fitting.
The wetted materials are all stainless steel 316L with a Viton gasket for mounting the device. As standard a G1/2 male fitting with a 3.5mm diameter x 12mm long tip is provided but other fittings are available with different size tips.
A choice of common amplified analogue outputs can be scaled to any range over -50 to 100 degrees Celsius and with the addition of the cooling fins option to protect the signal conditioning electronics the range can be extended to 150 degrees Celsius process temperature. There are also different electrical connectors that can be selected including DIN plug, Binder and Military connector type plus integral cable with either a Polyethylene, Polyurethane or Teflon outer jacket.
Air and water compatibility
We need to measure air temperature and water temperature and would like to use the TS100 temperature probe for both applications. Is it possible to use this device to measure air temperature?
Yes it is compatible with air, basically any media as long as its compatible with stainless steel. However it is designed for use on a process fitting and does not incorporate any features to protect the sensor from sunlight or drafts if you are planning to monitor ambient air temperature.
Is the TS100 temperature probe a RTD type temperature sensor?
Yes the TS100 utilizes a Pt100 (Platinum 100 Ohm) RTD (Resistive Temperature Detector/Device) temperature sensor, but the RTD signal is converted to an amplified analog output signal by internal conditioning electronics which scales the output to the required temperature range.
Alternatively it is possible for the TS100 to be provided with the unconditioned 4 wire RTD connections for connecting directly to a temperature transmitter head or temperature indicator.
M10 thread type
What kind of M10 thread does the TS100 temperature sensor have, is it a fine pitch of 1mm or a standard m10 with 1.5mm pitch?
The thread type is M10 x 1.5, which has a 1.5mm pitch.
