The LMK 809 submersible level transmitter is ideally suited for monitoring hot leachate levels in landfill wells up to 20 meters deep. Landfill leachate can reach temperatures exceeding 60°C, and its complex composition often includes corrosive substances that can damage typical level sensors. The LMK 809 is specifically designed to withstand these harsh conditions. Its PP-HT (high-temperature polypropylene) housing offers excellent chemical resistance to aggressive leachate, providing a more durable alternative to stainless steel in this application.

A key feature of the LMK 809 is its ceramic Al2O3 99.9% diaphragm. This highly inert material provides superior protection against the corrosive nature of leachate, ensuring long-term accuracy and reliability in level measurement. The use of FFKM (perfluoroelastomer) seals further enhances the sensor’s resistance to aggressive media, preventing leaks and maintaining measurement integrity.

With a 40-meter TPE cable rated for temperatures up to 100°C, the LMK 809 allows for safe and reliable signal transmission from the sensor to the junction box, even in high-temperature environments. The detachable nose cone on the submersible probe facilitates easy cleaning and maintenance, a crucial aspect in landfill applications where debris and sediment can accumulate. This design ensures the long-term performance and accuracy of the level measurements. The LMK 809‘s flush diaphragm design minimizes potential clogging issues, making it suitable for use in leachate, which often contains suspended solids.
