The AS motor-sport pressure transducer is an economical sub-miniature pressure sensor specially designed for use on auto-racing engines and chassis systems.
A wide range of motorsport applications have been considered in the AS autosport pressure transducers design so that it is compatible with the high temperature and vibration environments that are commonplace in high performance motorsport systems.
The AS motorsport pressure transducer has a highly corrosion resistant ceramic diaphragm which is compatible with fuel, hydraulic brake fluid, engine oil and gearbox oil.
The body dimensions of the AS auto-sport pressure sensor are a compact 21mm in diameter by 24mm long which allows it to be used in almost any area of the racing vehicle.
A variety of pressure connections appropriate to autosport applications are available and the electrical connection to the motorsport datalogger or engine management system is provided by a booted raychem DR25 cable protected to IP67.
To ease installation the AS auto racing pressure transducer has a hex nut fitted to the back of the sensor to facilitate easier removal and fitting of the sensor into hard to reach or recessed areas.
A choice of british and metric male thread sizes commonly used in autosport can be chosen for direct mounting onto a manifold eliminating the extra size and weight of pressure adaptors.
The electrical interfaces that can be specified for the AS motorsport pressure transducer include millivolt, ratiometric and regulated voltage outputs and is compatible with all types of motorsport dataloggers and engine management systems.
There are a choice of electrical signals for the AS motor racing pressure sensor to suit different autosport electronics: a 0.5 to 5 volt driven by a 8-16 volt power supply or a 0.5 to 4.5 volt ratiometric signal driven by a 5 volt power supply.
All the typical motorsport pressure ranges are covered by the AS autosport pressure transducer starting from 1 bar gauge or absolute to cover lower ranges such as engine oil, airbox & fuel pressure and up to 600 bar for measuring hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel system & brake fluid pressures.
The AS motorsport pressure sensor has a rugged construction to withstand a high vibration environment and low noise RFI filtering is incorporated into the electronics to protect the sensor from two way radio transmitter interference.

Supply current consumption for 0.5-4.5Vdc output version
What are the current requirements for both the 8-16V supply and radiometric 5V supply?
The current consumption is ~ 5 mA for both supply versions.
Output response time
What is the measurement to output frequency response for the amplified output and the milivolt output of the AS miniature pressure transducer?
The amplifier chip used in the AS has been tested and measured around 5 msec (200Hz).
For a 2 bar pressure range the millivolt output version of the AS would give a 23 microseconds response time.
40mm long & 30mm dia
I am looking for a miniature pressure transducer that is less than 40mm long and within a diameter of 30mm?
The AS is 24mm long for the sensor body excluding the electrical connector. The length of the electrical connector will depend on the choice and the bend radius of the cable used.
The diameter is 21mm so it is well within your required diameter of 30mm.
Wire colours for Vcc GND & Output
I have a AS Autosport Pressure Transducer but there are three lines here: red line / yellow line / blue line…. but I do not which one is the Vcc, GND, or Output?
The wire colour designations are:
- Vcc = Red
- GND = Blue
- Output = Yellow
