Product Description
The 2000 battery powered digital manometer is housed in a rugged IP67 water resistant enclosure with options to include a rubber boot protection cover for added protection against impacts.
The measurement accuracy is 0.15% reading + 0.15% fs + 1 digit over a temperature range of -10 to +50°C. Optional leak detection, data logging and averaging filter functions.
A backlit 31/2 digit LCD display displays the pressure reading in mbar, Pa, kPa, inH2O, mH2O, inHg, mmHg, cmHg, mHg and psi. The display will auto range to optimise reading resolution and has a selectable auto turn off after 12 minutes.
The 2000 digital manometer can be powered by two AA batteries and they can last up to typically 200 hours.
The enhanced version of the 2000 HVAC digital manometer includes a leak testing, data logging and averaging filter function for recording and processing readings over time periods. Using the optional infrared interface box with RS232 cable the logged pressure readings can be uploaded to a computer for analysis and creating reports.
Product Help
Logging rate
How fast is the data logging feature and what is the highest sample rate?
Minimum sample rate for the logging function is 1 second
Software license
Do you get a license when you purchase the datalog software to install it on as many computers as you want?
There are no restrictions on the number of computers that the software can be used on.
Humid air
Can you have humidified air on the positive port?
The manometer is compatible with humid air
Selecting units
What units are selectable?
You can select Pa, kPa, inH2O, mH2O, inHg, mmHg, cmHg, mHg or psi pressure units
Warranty
What is the warranty period?
It is 2 years for this product.
Torr calibration
I would like the 2000 series handheld digital manometer calibrated in Torr, is that possible?
It is possible for the operator to change units on the 2000 manometer and one of the options is to change from bar to mmHg which at this level of accuracy can be treated as representing the same value as a Torr pressure unit.
The 2000 manometer is calibrated in bar and all the engineering units available within the instrument are converted by the firmware using fixed values to convert into different units. Therefore, there is no need to calibrate each pressure unit separately.
Reading in dyn/cm²
We are looking to measure the differential pressure of clean rooms in dyne per cm square, would we be able to do this with this instrument?
The lowest range of 25 mbar has two scalings and the lower one is scaled 0 to 1999 microbar which has the same value as dyn/cm² pressure units (1 microbar = 1 dyn/cm2).
Calibrating 25 psi pressure gauges
Would a 7 bar range 2000 pressure indicator be suitable for calibrating in-line pressure gauges with a range of 0-25 psi?
The 2 bar range would be a closer range since 25 psi is 1.72 bar. A 2 bar range will also be more accurate at around 0.1 psi (6mbar), so it should be fine for checking 25 psi pressure gauges with an accuracy of say 1%.
Using 2086P with water
Is it ok to use the Digitron 2086P handheld meter to measure water pressure as well as air pressure?
Yes the 2086P (10 bar g/diff) can be used to measure water pressure.
Low pressure best accuracy
What is the best accuracy that can be achieved with the 2000 digital manometer for measuring low pressures in pascals?
The lowest range option for the 2000 series is 0 to 2500 Pa, and with this pressure range there are two possible display scalings, each will have an accuracy uncertainty as follows:
- 0 to 2500 Pa accuracy +/-5 to 8 Pa
- 0 to 199.9 Pa, accuracy +/-3.9 to +/-4.2 Pa
Substituting Torr for mmHg
Can the 2000 series handheld pressure indicator measure in Torr pressure units?
No, however it can read in mmHg (Millimetres of Mercury) which can be treated as being equal to Torr for the majority of practical uses.
Compatible media
What media is the 2000 series handheld pressure indicator compatible with?
The internal transducer is covered by a silicon gel which creates an internal buffer. For increased protection microbore copper tubing is used to connect the transducer to the external pressure ports.
The indicator is designed primarily for measuring the pressure of wet and dry air but it is also compatible with:
- Water (above 4 degrees Celsius)
- Saline solutions (above 4 degrees Celsius)
- Common Mineral oils
- Common Silicon oils
- Alcohol (at ambient temperatures)
- Oxygen
- Nitrogen
- Argon
- Helium
- Hydrogen
- Methane
- Propane
- Gasoline
- Motor oil
- Transmission fluid
- Brake fluid
- Hydraulic fluid
- Toulene
- Cetons
- Freon
- Diesel fuel
- Crude oil
Logging function
For the 2000 series digital manometer is the data logging function able to monitor and record the pressure during a certain period? Also do we need to use the Digilog software for Windows to enable this function?
You can store up to 250 readings with a preset time interval of 1 second or more and manually control the start and stop time. You do not need the software to do this since it can all be configured and read via the instrument itself, but you will need the RS232 option with PC Link software to send directly to a printer or a computer for analysis.
Hose connection type
What is the diameter of the tubing connection for the 2000 series digital pressure meter?
The hose supplied with the instrument has a 3.25mm ID and 6mm OD.
Extract from manual:
The input port(s) on the instrument are designed to accept a hose with 4mm I.D. and 1mm wall. The hose is fitted by unscrewing the clamping nut, sliding the hose on to the stepped shaft and refitting the nut.
Note: Do not tighten fittings attached to the pressure ports to a torque
greater than 2Nm otherwise the pressure seals may be damaged.
Reading in pascals with 25 mbar range
Does the 25 mb g/diff range 2020P7 digital manometer read in pascals?
There is a lower and higher pascal scale which will read as 0.0 to 199.9 Pa and 0 to 2500 Pa respectively on the display.
Maximum recording frequency
What is the frequency of pressure readings in the datalogging mode for the 2000 pressure meter?
The minimum sample rate that can be set is 1 second, so the maximum frequency is 1 Hz.
Case material
Which material is used for the housing of the 2000 handheld pressure meter?
The material is Bayblend FR90 which is a rigid Polycarbonate (PC) Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) copolymer alloy.
Operating leak test mode
Can the 2000 digital manometer detect the leak rate as a standalone unit without a connection to a computer, and if so, does it still require the “leak test, datalog and average functions” option?
The RS232 PC interface kit is not needed, but you will still need the “data logging, with averaging and auto leak detection” version instrument to use it as a standalone instrument to perform leak testing.
Zero tare function
Does the 2000 digital handheld manometer have an auto zero function?
No, but it does have one that can be performed manually. If the instrument is a gauge or differential reference range, any zero offset when vented to ambient pressure, can be removed by pressing the 0.0 button on the instrument keypad.
Switching pressure units
Does the 2000 handheld pressure gauge include instant selection between measurement units kg/cm2, psi, mmH2O, mmHg, Pa, kPa, atm, bar and mbar?
Apart from “atm” (1 standard atmosphere = 1013.25 mbar) and “kg/cm2” which are not included in the firmware, you will be able to quickly switch to any of the other pressure units by pressing the designated keypad button to scroll through the available choices.
Leak test duration time
Can the 2000 digital pressure meter run a 20-30 second duration test for checking leak rates at different pressures?
The 2000 digital manometer has a leak test mode where the time duration can be adjusted in minutes and seconds (MM.SS).
